As I get solidly into a “put it back together” wave on the Chevelle, it’s time for another before-and-after post. Here’s the before:
And here’s the after (current):
Other than the whole “it hasn’t got an engine in it” thing, it’s more or less the same level of ‘complete’ as before, but after redoing all the everything. The core support will come back off before the engine/trans go in, it’s mainly there so that (once I wrap up a couple more parts) I can hang the fenders to do the rust repair on those.
According to the tag counter, this is my 100th post about this car. It’s come a long way in the past few years, and still has quite a ways to go. Thanks for sticking around. As always happens, it’s taking the back-burner for a little while so I can get the RX7 where I want it for the summer (odds and ends, plus that “the gas tank is rusty inside” thing).
Here’s to 100 more.

Man, you’ve used a shit ton of elbow grease on that thing. Very nice. I wish I would have cleaned up everything in the Camaro’s engine bay before putting the engine in and sheet metal back on but people were on me about the car never running so I threw it together and got it on the road. I’ll have to do it when/if I pull the engine for an upgrade.

If you ever go insane and decide to sell this thing, I sure hope it happens when I have the money to buy it :)

That’s looking a lot nicer. All that cleaning, priming, and painting is paying off.

Not likely to happen, but if it does I’ll keep you in mind :)

It is, and I’m glad because it’s really getting old. The first 100 hours weren’t bad but...

Thanks!
I’ve gone a little overboard compared to what I was going to do, but it’s turning out nicely and did a good job of keeping me occupied (i.e. sane) during the cold dark winter. At this point I’m glad it’s coming together, though the actual
bodywork (which was kind of the original idea)
remains to be done.

Yeah, that's what I figured. He certainly the,"if you ever go insane," part :)
